I am fascinated by what people eat in a day (this has long been a favorite column of mine) and love peeking at a table’s food at a restaurant, or asking friends what they’re making for dinner. Every night when Tom gets home the first question I ask him is ‘what did you have for lunch today?’.
Since becoming a parent, I have cracked this obsession open even wider, and get so much inspiration from what other people feed their kids. It’s so easy to get stuck in a routine of rotating the same things again and again, so I try to seek out fresh ideas, which I do mainly by checking blogs (this one is my favorite), cookbooks (this one is incredible for baby food and toddler food, and adult food too!) or asking friends.
What a week! We closed on our new house, took Georgie trick-or-treating with her friends, and binge watched about half of the new season of Stranger Things 2, aka the best show on TV that you must watch immediately. We move next week and while there is a ton to do (I am plowing through a full page to-do list), I’m really excited!
Georgie has taken to calling the new house, ‘special new house’ (a name we used when we first went to see it to peak her enthusiasm) and I hope she adjusts well to the move and feels happy and at home there.
First of all, please excuse this terrible picture, which was taken quickly in between meeting painters and cleaners at our new house (!) which we are moving into next week. We actually don’t have a full length mirror in our current house, so I had to take advantage of the opportunity to grab a picture of my growing baby bump, albeit a rushed one.
Anyway, onto the update! I am actually currently 23 weeks along, but that’s close enough to 20, so we will jut make this work 🙂
