I always think it’s fun to peek into what people are loving on any given month, so I am starting a series where I will share some of my favorite things on a monthly basis. Here are a few of my favorite things for May.
Reading // I’m a little late to the game here, but I am reading The Goldfinch and I’m really into it. It’s a thick one, but written so beautifully. I also have this and this in my Amazon cart to read next on the parenting book front.
Watching // Tom is away in New Orleans this week for work, so I’ve been binge watching Scandal. That show is GOOD. We are also loving The Night Manager and Game of Thrones and I am sooooo excited The Bachelorette has started – I’m adoring JoJo so far, and definitely rooting for Jordan to win.
Buying // Too many adorable toddler clothes and shoes and jellies for Georgina, this incredible multi-user makeup stick (I am now obsessed with it and want everything else from the brand), a new natural deodorant (I read so many amazing things about it but sadly I’m underwhelmed), a new dress and bikini (currently 50% off and so good!) and fresh bottles of my favorite shampoo and conditioner.
Eating // After a few too many glasses of wine on several consecutive nights, I’m doing a little detox this week, consisting of no alcohol and no added sugar. I’m a little lenient with the sugar one… I still put a bit of brown sugar in my coffee in the morning, and sometimes eat a few squares of dark chocolate after dinner (I’m only human!!) but I am staying away from ice cream, muffins, candy etc. For me, it’s HARD. What I have been enjoying are cherries (my absolute favorite fruit) and a half iced tea / half lemonade with lunch. So refreshing in this crazy city heat!
Loving // Since signing the contract on our house, I have been flipping through home magazines and Pinterest, and especially loving Rue and One Kings Lane for inspiration. Oh, and my forever favorite. I’ve been popping these lemon-scented towelettes into the fridge and using them on my arms and legs after I’ve been running around outside with Georgina. They smell incredible – uplifting and fresh. I have also switched out Georgie’s stroller canopy for this summer one. Hello, sunshine 🙂
