On Sunday, we celebrated Georgina’s first birthday with a family brunch at our apartment. It was simple, casual and full of yummy food and lots of love for our sweet Georgie Rose.
I have always been a huge birthday person. I love a day where you can eat all of the cake you want, you’re surrounded by your favorite people and you get presents. What’s not to love?! I have a feeling Georgina is going to be the same way, as she seemed to know it was her birthday, and soaked it up. (I had bought her this birthday crown weeks before the big day and tried dozens of times to get her to wear it. Each time she pulled it off her head after about three seconds, but on her birthday, she wore her crown all day long :))
There was a lot of carb eating for the birthday girl. She started the day with her beloved croissants for breakfast (along with her new favorite Greek yogurt) and nibbled on endless bagels throughout the party.
Such a fan of her birthday balloons! We got them from here (the best) and had them filled with hi-float. Five plus days later, they are still floating in our apartment.
^Playing with her birthday present from Mom & Dad!!
We got Georgie’ smash cake from Magnolia (along with a larger cake for the grown ups) and while I thought she would go nuts with it, she was very ladylike! She stuck her face in the frosting, but she really wasn’t sure what to do with such a humongous cake. So we cut her a little piece and gave her a few bites. Then her sweet cousin Hadley fed her a few bites too – precious.
