There is something so special about the dad / daughter relationship. When I was a baby, my dad insisted on putting his career on hold to stay home with me and my two older brothers, so my mom could finish her medical residency. From the age of about six months until three, my dad was the one at home taking care of us.
I don’t remember it, but I love hearing stories about being carted around to my brothers’ Little League games (my dad was the coach) or how he would take me shopping (my dad is the one who bought me my first favorite outfit that I pretty much lived in – a white denim skirt and white sweatshirt, both adorned with pastel swirls and multicolored gemstones).
Georgie is a lucky girl to have Tom as her dad. She has already inherited his eyes, nose and mellow personality, and I am so excited to see their relationship develop as she grows.
P.S. Those two fingers that Georgie sucks on almost constantly (and always when she sleeps, which is oh so sweet) are the same two fingers that Tom sucked on when he was a baby. Melts my heart.
