You know how sometimes the most random things seem to stick in your mind? I have a particularly terrible memory, but certain things are just ingrained in there. Some of them are not totally useful, but others are little gems that I reference often in my daily life. Here are a few:
When I wash my face, I splash water on it 10 times, always, to remove the face wash. This one was told to me years and years ago by my mom’s aesthetician when I interviewed her for an article I was writing for this magazine, during a summer internship. Maybe it speaks to the OCD in me, but everyday, twice a day, for the past 10+ years, this is one I have remembered.
Adding salt and pepper to your salad once it’s dressed and before you toss it makes it taste much more delicious.
Eating ice cream with a little spoon (like a tiny sugar spoon) makes it taste better and last longer.
Putting milk and chocolate sauce in the blender and blending it for about 15 seconds is the most delicious treat ever – it tastes like a milkshake.
Always spritz perfume on the nape of your neck. Just a tiny bit. That way, whenever anyone hugs you, they get a delicious scent.
Straws give you wrinkles. I remember years ago shopping with my mom at Bed Bath & Beyond, and I threw a cute package of colorful straws into the cart. She told me that drinking from straws gives you those tiny mouth wrinkles, and I swiftly removed them.
What are your random little pearls of wisdom? I would love to hear any and all!
