Georgie has this total obsession with airplanes and helicopters these days. It started when we were down the shore, and she loved seeing the little planes that flew by the beach with banners behind them advertising things like Wawa coffee and home insurance. She would always wave at them, and now, anytime she hears a plane she starts to wave – even if we’re inside and she can’t see it! It’s precious. So yesterday we decided to head over to the river and check out the sea planes taking off and landing.
The best way to get there is via the 23rd Street entrance, and there are a few chairs and benches, and pretty bunches of flowers, but for the most part it’s fairly industrial. The East River may be murky, but I do always love being near water, and sometimes when the planes or boats create waves, you hear the river lapping up against the walls and it’s the best.
I know I’ve said it before, but there is something about Georgie’s teeth that I find so cute it’s almost too much for me to handle. I fully understand that it’s a weird part of your child to be obsessed with, but I am! Oh and that hint of a dimple on her cheek when she smiles melts me too.
