Although you would never guess it from her happy smile in these pictures, Georgie has been coming down with a cold the last few days. (Note: I put her socks and shoes on her about one minute after the pictures were taken!) As soon as I heard the coughing and stuffy nose coming on, I started doing a few specific things, and the cold seems to be going away. I normally don’t worry too much when she gets a cold (toddlers get so many, she just started school, and I’m not at all germ-obsessed – she used to lick her stroller wheels when we lived in Manhattan, disgusting but true!!) although she does have a tendency to get croup, so I try to nip any sickness in the bud when I can. Here’s what has been working so far:
Fall School Supplies + Staying Organized
Of course there is no reason to shop for school supplies for myself these days, but there is something about fall setting in that makes me crave the back-to-school tradition. So I usually buy myself a fresh new notebook and some pens and get really excited about being perfectly organized, which of course I’m not, but I do try!
Hi! I’m Back!!
I feel like I have said this a lot recently, but this time I really mean it – I did not mean to take that much time off without writing any posts! And I do feel badly about it, but here’s the truth. I’m pregnant!!! We are incredibly thrilled, but my first trimester was soooooo brutal. I could barely pretend to ignore my nausea long enough to get Georgie to camp, let alone sit upright at my computer and tap out words on a keyboard. I had to decline all plans and just try my best to get through it. It was hard and not fun, but luckily around week 10 the nausea started to lift, and then around week 12 the food aversions started to slowly melt away. There are some more details below on my pregnancy so far in case you’re interested. Also, happy Friday and happy fall (best season ever)!!
