Two days after Thanksgiving, we drove up to Wilkens Fruit & Fir Farm in Yorktown and picked out our lovely little Christmas tree. When we lived in the city, we would pick our tree from a huge pile in front of our local bodega, so choosing our own fresh tree to cut down on a huge, country farm was really fun. And there were the best cider donuts I have ever tasted in my whole entire life, plus tractors all over the place which was so thrilling for Georgie!
My cutie little sister Nicki and I on the back of the tractor that takes you up to pick out your tree.
It was pretty cloudy and a little bit chilly, but still so beautiful up in the Hudson Valley. Also, there was a fairly large puddle of water on that tractor seat, but that certainly did not stop Georgie from wanting to sit on it and not get off!
Our tree!! We were just a tiny bit worried it would somehow fall off our roof when we drove home on the highway, but it did not! Success!
We need to get a star for the top (and maybe a skirt for the bottom?!), but otherwise I’m pretty pleased with how the tree looks. The best part is that every morning, when Georgie comes down the stairs she looks at the tree and says, ‘wow! wow! wow!’ 🙂
