I read about this pumpkin enzyme mask on a UK beauty blog that I have become obsessed with (warning: this blog is adorable and addictive and you will spend hours flipping through the posts and videos) and have been wanting to try it out ever since. I added it to my birthday wish list and was thrilled when I opened a shiny black Sephora bag with the mask inside.
First of all, it smells incredible, like a freshly baked pumpkin pie and a spicy chai tea latte rolled into mask form. You massage it onto a clean face with wet fingertips, then let it sit for 3 – 7 minutes, depending on your skin’s sensitivity (the AHA and pumpkin enzyme pack quite a punch). The mask is a gel, but packed with gritty aluminum oxide crystals, which work to exfoliate and polish skin. I left it on for 3 minutes, not knowing exactly how my skin would react, and although my face was a tiny bit red after washing it off, the redness quickly gave way to amazingly soft, smooth and fresh skin.
You’re only supposed to use the mask 1 – 2 times a week, but it smells so scrumptious and feels so great and I sort of wish I could use it everyday. It’s the perfect fall skincare treat!
