Rex has been going through a phase where he is extra clingy to me in the mornings. As in, if I try and put him down he will cry, attach himself to my leg and just shuffle along as I try to walk around the kitchen and get anything done, like pouring him his morning milk.
I realize ‘pouring morning milk’ sounds like a simple task, but collecting all pieces of his cup from the drying rack, putting them together, pouring the milk in and then making sure the top is twisted on tight enough to not leak is nearly impossible with a wiggly toddler in your arms. It’s a slightly frazzled way to get your day started!
So the other night, before I went up to bed, I poured Rex’s morning milk and left it in the fridge. It made my life so. much. easier. the next morning. I then took it a step further and decided to do it for ALL of his milks. So now, before heading upstairs for bed each night, I pour Rex’s morning, pre-afternoon nap and nighttime milk and pop them in the fridge. It’s such a small thing, but it has been so impactful. Anything to make life a little easier, and to have more available, open arms for Rex’s early morning clinginess.
