New York City in the rain is not fun. You are most likely braving the elements on foot at some point, which means your jeans will be soaked through, your umbrella will turn inside out and unless you are in boots, your feet will be sloshing in your shoes.
Yesterday it was pouring rain, but I try to ensure Georgie and I get out several times a day for some fresh air, and I discovered something that made the rain so much more bearable – a clear, bubble umbrella!
I got mine as a party favor (can you still say party favor as an adult?!) from my cousin Jen’s bridal shower (note: such a cute shower favor – it has a little cloud on the side that says ‘showering Jen with love’) and maybe it’s the most obvious thing ever, but it’s incredible how you can SEE THROUGH IT! Usually I put my umbrella on an angle in front of my face to block the rain / wind / general grossness that buckets down, but that means you can’t see anything so you are running into things and forced to lift the umbrella to check traffic lights etc. I took Georgie out in the carrier for a walk in the morning and then in her stroller in the afternoon – both times it worked like a charm.
The bubble umbrella is a game changer, and I am so incredibly glad I finally have one! This one is cheap and cute, these are adorable and this one is a beautiful splurge.
