At Georgina’s six month check-up, her pediatrician suggested offering small amounts of water once a day, so she could get used to drinking from a cup. Since Georgie never really took a bottle (aside from when she was a newborn) we didn’t have to worry about bottle-weaning, so I went right to this cup with a straw. Sometimes she would get little sips out, but it seemed like she wasn’t quite ready.
Then, when she was around seven months, my mom bought her this sippy cup (to match my beloved water bottle ;)) and she drinks from it like a champ. She gets thirsty now, so it’s great to see her chugging the water down. She hasn’t quite figured out how to take a breath while drinking, so she gulps and gulps and gulps and then emerges for some much needed air. It’s pretty adorable.
I love that the bottle is glass, meaning there are no chemicals that are sometimes around with certain plastics. You buy the sippy cap tops to go with the bottle and you’re all set. Another thing I love about it is that it’s little and doesn’t have huge handles on the side, meaning it slips into your diaper bag super easily.
Plus, we match!!!
