Please forgive the not so great picture above. It’s blurry, Georgie’s eyes are closed, it’s a less-than-flattering angle for Rex 😉 and I am certainly not looking my best. But there’s a good reason. About 24 hours before this picture was taken I had surgery, and about five days before that I started having terrible pains on my lower right side.
After a trip to urgent care, my OB and the hospital, I learned that the large ovarian cyst that I have had since getting pregnant with Rex had grown even more, and ruptured a tiny bit, causing fluid to slowly leak out. I know it doesn’t sound like much, but the pain that was caused by that leaking fluid was sheer agony. For five days and five nights, I could barely walk without doubling over, couldn’t eat, couldn’t sleep, couldn’t take care of my kids and basically winced through anything that was totally necessary, like drinking water or nursing Rex. It was awful.
I was terrified for the surgery, but so lucky to live in a place where healthcare is available to me, and where there are great hospitals and excellent doctors. I am currently on the mend and so happy the worst is behind me. I have never been more thankful for my health!! And I know I have said it many times recently, but I am really looking forward to getting back to posting regularly on here. Soon!
In the meantime, have a wonderful (and healthy) day!!
